Claudia Tavares holds a PhD in Contemporary Artistic Processes from Instituto de Artes UERJ, being awarded the Faperj Nota 10 2016 Scholarship and Capes PDSE 2017 Scholarship.
The artistic work is based mainly on the language of photography and video, with installation thinking in contact with objects, drawings and artist notebooks.
His solo exhibitions are “Light Boxes”, 2001, 291 Gallery, London, “between cloud and wind”, 2007, Ateliê Gallery, Rio de Janeiro, “We”, 2011, Espaço Sérgio Porto, Rio de Janeiro, “Branco Preto ”, 2012, Tempo Gallery, Rio de Janeiro,“ Vestida de childhood ”, 2015, Galeria do Ateliê, Rio de Janeiro. She won 3rd prize at the 9th National Biennial of Santos 2004, the FCS 2018 Occupation Notice and was selected for the Labverde 2018 artist residency program. She exhibited at Casa França Brasil, Galeria Portinari, Rio de Janeiro and Galeria Cozinha, Porto, Portugal. This year he participates in the Cerveira Biennial, Vila Nova de Cerveira, Portugal and Casa Museu Abel Salazar, Porto, Portugal. A Jardim em Floresta, his new work, which gives rise to his thesis, was exhibited at Galeria Mari'Stella Tristão, Palácio das Artes, BH between April and July 2018 and is on display at Paço Imperial, Rio de Janeiro, between December 2018 to February 2019.
